Development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

THESE ARE THE 17 GOALS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT 

 

AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY

This is goal number 7 one of 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015. It aims to "Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.

It aims for efficient energy use and the promotion of renewable sources. 

there are many  economic benefits, Which includes a reduction in air pollution. A diverse clean energy supply also reduces the dependence on imported fuel.

Investing in solar, wind ,and thermal power, improving energy productivity, and ensuring energy for all is vital if we are to achieve our goal.

One in 7 people still lacks electricity, and most of them live in rural areas of the developing world.

60% Energy is the main contributor to climate change, it produces around 60 percent of greenhouse gases.

The main targets areas of SDG-7 are as follows

1. Access to energy
2. Renewable energy
3. Energy efficiency 

It’s three core targets are the foundation for our work-

●       Ensure universal access to affordable, reliable and modern energy services

 

●       Increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix

 

●       Double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency

 

 

How we can contribute to achieve the goal-

1. Inform your networks about SDG 7.
2. You will be surprised about who isn’t aware of the goal.
3. Spread news stories with your community, for instance, at your child’s school, or in your neighborhood social media pages.
4. Write in-depth articles about goal 7 to keep it in the news and newsworthy.
